Rules:
Positions are counted in links. All counting is done from the top right hand side of the tile, clockwise

Position 1 is always the topmost, rightmost tile. (this means that the position one is always easy to find when playing online, i'm not sure how this would work offline as you usually sit opposite one another). As the links are sometimes sharing a space for a tile, some places for notation may have two links joining them to the tantrix, this is shown in space 3/4. Any tile placed here would be in both positions 3 and 4, and therefore in position 3/4. I have shown position 5/6 as the links 5 and 6 to illustrate this point
Here is a typical move:
This is represented as: The placing of a tile (move) is in three stages. The placement of the tile, the drw, asn then the resulting situation. Sometimes the situation can change afeter a draw, for example. You can see the position before the move and throughout it by analysing the ties in the player's hand at the time (which is why the draw is kept track of).
Placement of tile:

This placement would be described as "4G: ryyggr 2"
this shows,
4 = the move number
G = the colour playing
ryyggr = the tile played, and its orientation
2 = the positon of the tile on the game.
The draw (circled tile) and resulting situation.

This image shows the drawn tile, and the resulting situation.
The tile drawn is written in brackets after the move has been described, so the line now reads: "4G: ryyggr 2 (rrggyy)" the orientation of the drawn tile does not matter, so this could be described by the tile nuber if nessecary.
The situation also needs to be described. We need to describe where the forced spaces are. This is done by noting their positions, their status, and who needs to fill them. Forced spaces are labelled "colour needed to fill, position, type (eg rbr)". If the forced space is blocked, the colour spce should be replaced by an *. This forced space would be described as: "gf 4/5/6 (gbg)". The 'f' just stands for forced. If there are no fored spaces, the symbol 'nf' should be used, to indicate an open game. This just stands for 'none forced'.
